Biocientífica launches new Schep Dengue Screen kit

It is the first Argentinean kit for dengue based on Real Time PCR technology. Biocientífica launches new Schep Dengue Screen kit

The Schep Dengue Screen kit is a one-step qualitative test that provides the necessary reagents for reverse transcription, amplification and detection of specific regions of Dengue virus types 1, 2, 3 and 4 by Real-Time RT-PCR from RNA samples extracted from human serum for Dengue diagnosis and epidemiological surveillance.

The kit uses enzymes that are only activated at high temperatures, which reduces the possibility of non-specific reactions during the preparation of the assay. In addition, it includes the necessary components for the amplification of the human RNase P gene, as an internal control, which allows identifying a possible inhibition of the PCR reaction, detecting problems in the process of extraction and purification of nucleic acids and verifying the correct performance of the kit. It also provides a positive control for Dengue virus. To amplify and detect the Dengue viral genome, specific primers and probes were designed.

To amplify and detect the Dengue viral genome, specific primers and probes were designed. The use of MGB-labeled probes allows a more efficient and stable hybridization that increases the melting temperature (Tm) for better identification of the target gene. FAM fluorophores (green) were used for the detection of viral genetic material and JOE (yellow) for the detection of human material (positive extraction control).

Benefits of the Schep Dengue Screen kit:

  • All inclusive
  • Ready to use
  • One Step
