SARS-CoV-2 could become another endemic virus in our communities, i.e., never leave. While waiting for this to occur, surveillance of this virus is imperative to monitor its pandemic behavior. In Biocientífica our R&D Department developed new solutions that renew our commitment to health and quality, making Biotechnology in Argentina.
The new Schep SARS-CoV-2 Ómicron BA.1 and Schep SARS-CoV-2 Ómicron BA.2 kits are one-step real-time RT-PCR kits that amplify a specific sequence of the circulating Ómicron BA.1 and Ómicron BA.2 variants in the SARS-CoV-2 genome.
These duplex kits are qualitative and allow to discriminate whether a sample with a confirmed result for SARS-CoV-2 corresponds to one of the two variants in circulation, or otherwise confirms a positive result for a different variant.
In addition, they can be used to evaluate respiratory samples of the same type as the initial analysis using RT-PCR technology and conventional molecular biology procedures without resorting to sequencing.
